Chuai Cha New!
On Changbei Street in Tainan’s North District is an understated pour-over tea house down a lane. Its signature feature is that every cup contains tea ice cubes made from the tea itself, so the flavour never weakens as they melt. The name chuai means to seek in Taiwanese, expressing the founding wish that a good cup of tea helps you find your way back to being at ease with yourself.

It avoids gimmicks and concentrates on consistency and purity in every cup. The essentials are the amber tea-ice milk and the amber lemon, often paired with house-made osmanthus tea jelly. Both signatures are limited daily and often sell out early.
