(The skywalk on the 11th floor has a great view, and the cool breeze on your face is very comfortable)
For many people, Shigu Sugar Factory is a memory of their primary and secondary school years. Whether it is off-campus teaching or graduation trip, they often go to Shigu Sugar Factory to watch performances, but in fact, the night view of Shigu Sugar Factory after dark is the highlight. With the lighting, the whole park looks very colorful, very suitable for couples to take a walk in it. I think the best place in it is the Paradise Swing. First you have to climb up the branch staircase to the roof, then walk through the rooftop walkway to the swing on the eleventh floor. The breeze at night is cool and feels very comfortable. It is also a good place to take photos and check in. However, those who are afraid of heights may feel a little scratchy.

After a series of renovations, the Harborside Historical Park has become a playground for children. In 2019, a new installation art work “The Blessing of the Big Fish” was set up here. The hollowed-out whale symbolizes the meaning of tolerance for all things. You can walk into the stairs from the bottom of the fish’s belly. At the center of the fish, there is a shape of Taiwan made up of more than 400 pieces of colored glass, symbolizing love and tolerance. The author Mr. Yang Shiyi once said: “Taiwan is like an invisible big fish guarding us in the sea. No matter who we are or where we come from, it always carries us without distinction. We who are in it should also tolerate and care for each other. When we have different ideas, we can communicate instead of arguing and opposing; when facing problems, we can work together instead of attacking each other.” The big fish under the light peacefully accommodates us as tourists. I really felt the author’s intention.

Hele Plaza is the largest waterfront plaza in Tainan City. Designed with the concept of “urban lagoon”, it was once listed by Fujibi as one of the seven most anticipated parks in the world. It is also the filming location of the film “Growing Up Girl 2”. Whether you want to see the night view, play in the water, or be a movie fan, this is a great place to go. In Tainan, many couples also go on romantic dates at this scenic spot with beautiful lights and a great atmosphere.

The attractions just introduced are all in the bustling urban area. Although the next attraction is located on the mountain, its popularity has not diminished at all. Not only has it been visited by well-known variety shows, but even the popular Taiwanese drama “Growing Up Girl 2” has been filmed here. Many people come here just to enjoy the scenery that looks like a paradise on earth as shown in TV dramas.

Night view of Anping Canal | Tainan Canal Cruise

(Because some bridges are too low, the tour guide will ask everyone to lower their heads to avoid danger when passing certain bridges. Image source: Sandaomen Facebook fan group.)
The Anping Canal, which has a century-long history since its completion in 1922, is the longest artificial canal in Taiwan. There are three cruise routes on the Tainan Canal, passing by Anping Lighthouse, Eternal Golden City, Deyang Ship, Yuguang Island and other attractions. The “Full Canal Section (Port Area + Canal)” satisfies two wishes at once. Canal cruises are all led by professional tour guides who explain the harbor attractions and local history, taking visitors to learn about the history of the city through the waterways. Along the way, you can see the beautiful night view of the canal. The streets are also lit up so it is very beautiful. When passing Lin’an Bridge on the way, the tour guide asked everyone to bow their heads. It was really a special experience.
Tainan West Central District Hotel Recommendations
When traveling, one always has to worry about where to stay. The location cannot be too remote, otherwise it will take most of the time just to get to the attraction, and you will even lose interest in playing. Today I would like to introduce to you a high-quality hotel located in Tainan City. In addition to being just a five-minute walk from the train station, their service tenet is to give guests the experience of staying in a luxury home while also making them feel as comfortable as returning home. This hotel is the Sandaomen Architectural Cultural Hotel.
(The parent-child reading space on the top floor welcomes anyone to come up and borrow books and play board games.)
We hope that guests will feel like they are going home when they come to the hotel, and we also respond to the recent rise of the concept of “slow travel”. The interior of the three doors uses a lot of cypress wood as decoration, and only protective paint is applied, allowing guests to absorb the phytoncides in nature and relax their tired body and mind. In addition, the first thing that comes into view when you open the door is the exotic bar, which has popular beers from all over the world. You can have a drink during business hours andThen you can chat with the service staff. The enthusiastic service staff will also introduce you to some of Tainan’s private beauties. The table next to the bar is the check-in counter. While waiting to check in, there is freshly brewed black tea to quench your thirst!

(You can enjoy craft beers from all over the world in the bar. You can take some time to have a drink.)
There is also free bicycle rental service at the hotel entrance, so you can use the bicycle to get around and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the cultural capital at night. However, I personally think that the most amazing thing is their butler service. In ordinary hotels outside, you have to go upstairs to find your room by yourself. Sandaomen provides exclusive butler services for limited room types. They can take care of many itineraries and any difficult and complicated problems can be found by them. It makes people feel very considerate and convenient. I also saw many thank-you messages and praises for the butlers in the guestbook in the lobby on the first floor, and there were even some who helped to propose successfully. All of these left me with a deep and good impression of Sandaomen. If I have the opportunity to come to Tainan again, or if my relatives and friends ask for hotel recommendations in Tainan, I will recommend Sandaomen Architectural Cultural Hotel without hesitation.
