<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This summer, Tainan welcomes an old friend from a hundred years ago.<\/p>\n Works by the Czech artist Alphonse Mucha are travelling south to Tainan for the first time: more than 150 original pieces are on view at the Tainan National Museum of Fine Arts until the end of September. It is about a fifteen-minute walk from our front door \u2014 and a walk that takes you past Chihkan Tower, the Sacrificial Rites Martial Temple and Snail Alley.<\/p>\n So that guests travelling from afar need not worry about transport or tickets, 3 Door has partnered with Taiwan High Speed Rail on an “HSR + Hotel Package”: book on our official website and add a high-speed rail ticket, and we will have your exhibition tickets waiting for you.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n HSR + Hotel Package | What’s Included<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mucha is the name most closely bound up with Art Nouveau. Those posters of serene women wrapped in curling flowers and vines \u2014 you have probably seen them countless times on cafe walls and notebook covers, without knowing they came from a Czech painter who took on theatre-poster commissions in late nineteenth-century Paris.<\/p>\n The works on show come from the Mucha family collection and span painting, posters, jewellery design, photography, illustration, printmaking and product design. Rather than calling a cab, we suggest you walk \u2014 this stretch is the very best of Tainan.<\/p>\n Tainan summers are bright and hot, so we suggest setting out before the museum opens in the morning, or waiting until after four in the afternoon. On Saturdays the galleries stay open until nine \u2014 the most comfortable slot of all: step outside after the exhibition and Tainan’s evening is just beginning. If your legs give out on the way back, taxis and shared scooters are easy to find in the West Central District.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tainan’s old town grew up to be walked. Most lanes in the West Central District are only one car wide, and in high season a parking space near Chihkan Tower or the museums is almost impossible to find. Guests who drive often spend half a day’s energy hunting for one.<\/p>\n The rail route is simpler than you might imagine:<\/p>\n THSR Tainan Station \u2192 TRA Shalun Line (about 25 min) \u2192 Tainan Railway Station \u2192 about a 5-minute walk \u2192 3 Door Hotel<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Once you have dropped your bags, you will not need to touch a vehicle again for the next three days. Chihkan Tower, Shennong Street, Guohua Street, Zhengxing Street, Hayashi Department Store and both art museums are all within walking distance. If the child shares a bed or uses an extra bed without occupying one, the count is two bed-occupying adults, so two tickets. If the child occupies a separate bed, that makes three. The exact number depends on your room type, and we will confirm it with you when you book.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n It is about a kilometre in a straight line, roughly a fifteen-minute walk, passing Chihkan Tower, the Sacrificial Rites Martial Temple and Snail Alley along the way \u2014 well worth doing on foot. If an afternoon thunderstorm rolls in or the heat is too much, a taxi will get you there on the base fare, and shared scooters and YouBike are both easy to use downtown.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n THSR Tainan Station is in Gueiren; transfer to the TRA Shalun Line for about 25 minutes to Tainan Railway Station, then walk roughly five minutes to reach 3 Door. Shalun Line services are timed to meet the high-speed trains, so there is no need to look up a timetable \u2014 just follow the signs.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n Your tickets are handed to you at check-in. They are valid at any time during the exhibition period (26 June \u2013 30 September 2026), with no timed entry, so you can fit your visit around your own plans.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n Right beside it stand Tainan Art Museum Buildings 1 and 2, and across Tang Te-chang Memorial Park you will find Hayashi Department Store and the Judicial Museum. Walking back north towards the hotel, you can detour into Guohua Street or Zhengxing Street for a bite.
