Before becoming the founder of 3 Door Hotel, I spent years designing bespoke luxury homes and founded 3L Architecture. In those years, what I faced daily was exacting dimensions, rigorous construction and expensive, meticulous spaces.<\/p>\n

But a thought never left me.
\nIf even a space as fine as this ends up only as something to show off,when does a person actually get treated well?<\/span><\/p>\n

Many people have asked me: you were doing well designing bespoke homes, so why open a hotel? I always smile first, because the answer is simple.<\/p>\n

I have always felt that staying at a hotel should not just be sleeping somewhere. It should feel likeliving in a superb home and being attended to with real care<\/span>.<\/p>\n

With that intention, I brought the standards of building a luxury home into 3 Door Hotel. From spatial proportion, the warmth of materials and the layering of light to every detail a traveller actually uses, we wanted not only beauty but comfort; not only luxury but warmth.<\/p>\n

The moment that made me decide to change<\/h3>\n

I still remember one scene. A traveller came into a hotel dragging a suitcase. They looked exhausted, and the only thing reception asked was: “Do you have a booking number?”<\/p>\n

A traveller might mention in passing that they are tired, and we will remember that they need quiet; they might look a moment longer at a map of Tainan, and we will want to share the lanes only locals know.<\/p>\n
