2022 Tourism Subsidy Program
In response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Taiwan in April 2022, which has had a huge impact on the economy and people’s livelihood, especially the hospitality and tourism industries, the Executive Yuan has allocated NT$5.5 billion to revitalize the national tourism subsidy plan. It was originally scheduled to be implemented after September, but it will now be implemented in advance from July 15, 2022 to December 15, 2022. The initial plan is divided into: free travel accommodation subsidies, travel agency group travel subsidies, and tourism theme park subsidies.
2022 Travel Subsidy | Accommodation Subsidy

- Travel subsidy period: July 15, 2022 to December 15, 2022. Only available on weekdays (Sunday to Thursday), not applicable on Fridays, Saturdays and consecutive holidays

- Tourism accommodation subsidy content and application method:
- From 2:00 p.m. on July 4 (Monday), the public can go to the Taiwan Travel Network and link to the “EasyTravel Individual Traveler Accommodation Promotion” webpage to scan and upload their ID or health insurance card.
- Each person can only receive the subsidy once.
- Must stay in legal domestic hotels on weekdays, each person can receive a subsidy of $800. The public can go to the Taiwan Hotel Network to check which hotels and accommodations are participating.
- If you are eligible for additional subsidies, you can receive an additional subsidy of $500, up to $1,300.
- Accommodation subsidies are not applicable if the tour is organized by a travel agency.
- You must present your ID upon check-in for the hotel to verify that you are the person staying there.
- Tourism accommodation subsidy content and application method:
- Eligibility for additional subsidies: those staying in star-rated hotels, hospitable B&Bs, bicycle-friendly hotels, eco-label hotels, and those who have fully received three doses of the vaccine.

- Group travel subsidy content:
- The group must have 15 or more people and the tour duration must be more than 2 days.
- Stay in legal hotels and take legal means of transportation (renting a car, taking a tour bus, taking the high-speed rail, Taiwan Railways, airplanes, passenger ships, and passenger transport).
- Each group will receive a subsidy of $20,000. If eligible, they can receive an additional subsidy of $10,000. The maximum subsidy per group is $30,000.
- Group travel subsidy content:
- Eligibility for additional subsidies: staying in star-rated hotels, travel days are weekdays, the travel period must be three days and two nights, designated bicycle routes and national green trails must be combined, and unemployed tour guides must be hired as group service personnel. Q1. How much is the accommodation subsidy for independent travel?
The amount of accommodation subsidy is $800 per person with ID. If you meet the additional qualifications, you can get an additional subsidy of $500. The maximum subsidy is $1,300. Each person is limited to one subsidy.
Q2. Can it be used during self-guided travel accommodation holidays?
To balance the disparity between domestic tourism on weekdays and holidays, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications will only provide domestic travel accommodation subsidies for weekdays (Sunday to Thursday). They are not applicable on Fridays, Saturdays, the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (9/9-9/11), and the National Day holiday (10/8-10/10).
Q3. How to apply for accommodation and travel subsidies?
From 2 p.m. on July 4 (Mon), the public can go to the Taiwan Stay Network [Taiwan Stay Network] to link to the [EasyTravel Individual Traveler Accommodation Promotion] webpage area. Before or during check-in, scan and upload your ID or health insurance card (choose one) to create a data file.
Q4. Can I make a reservation using the hotel booking platform?
- The domestic travel subsidy is not available for bookings made on overseas & foreign hotel booking platforms.
- Travel agencies that have participated in this event and have been approved by the Tourism Bureau to participate in this event through domestic booking platforms and have cooperated with qualified accommodation operators can visit the event section for inquiries.
Q5. Are there any differences in the eligible groups for the China Travel accommodation discount?
The national travel accommodation discount is not applicable to non-nationals.
Group travel such as travel agencies, tour buses, employee travel, off-campus teaching, pilgrimage groups, village groups, etc. are not applicable. Only group travel subsidies are applicable.
2022 Tourism Subsidy Hotel
